An ancient fishing village, is now one of the most developed tourist community of Costa Rica. It’s geographical and climatic conditions make the area ideal for surfing and other water sports with an average temperature of 32 °, the dry season, which runs from November to April is dry, sunny and warm with low humidity, the rest of the year there are always low rainfall with a pleasant climate. There is also the National Marine Park Las Baula, the Natural Refugio de Vida Silvestre Tamarindo and the long beaches of Tamarindo, Playa Grande, Playa Langosta and Playa Avellana, which together constitute the area‘s most important for the turtle nesting.
There are all the facilities, modern supermarkets, banks, shopping centers, specialty shops, countless restaurants with cuisine from around the world, several hotels and an active night life with bars and club always open.
The local airport (only 3 minutes from the center) makes several daily connections with the capital with Nature Air or Sansa Regional.
