Capital of Guanacaste where you can find the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport with diaries flights from Europe and from USA, and characterized for being surrounded by plantations of sugar cane.


Located in the lowlands, in the geometrical center of the Nicoya Peninsula, was the main center of the Chorotega culture, ancient pre-Columbian population of Indians who inhabited the territory of present of the Guanacaste province and much of the south-western Nicaragua. Famous for its longevity (one of the few in the world Blue Zones) where there are many centenarians thanks to the mild climate that is found in its mountains with peaks of 900 meters where you can see the ocean and the bay with a nice breeze.

Playa Ostional

Playa Ostional is a wonderful volcanic beach where thousands of turtles, before the rainy season, come to lay their precious eggs. Unique and rare natural showing.

Playa Samara

Small tourist center with all the facilities in the south of the Nicoya Peninsula, with a beautiful beach protected by a coral reef.

Playa Coco

Highly developed tourist center with many apartment buildings and many hotels, several restaurants and shops. Famous for its nightlife, a little bit less for the beach itself.
