Flora and Fauna
The Costa Rica due to its wide variety of habitats has a pristine nature where almost 500,000 animal species and 10,000 plants and trees with a unique biodiversity in the world, with over 50% of forests (given still rising) are 20 natural parks, 8 biological reserves, and a lot of protected areas that ecotourism lovers arrived from the entire world.
The orchid is the top of flora with 1,200 species as well as countless other flowers, tropical plants and secular trees.
For fauna can easily meet many animals like monkeys, sloths, iguanas, raccoons, squirrels, toucans and several species of birds, crocodiles, tapirs, etc.. All of course in freedom, even in urban areas, if one enters into the forest definitely increase the species and you can meet even jaguars and pumas.
Insects of all kinds of the most common up to gigantic beautiful beetles, thousands of butterflies, and many species yet to be identified.
Even marine life is very active, it’s easy to see whales, manta rays, dolphins, turtles, sharks and diving the show is endless, especially near the '"Coco Island".
For nature lovers the Costa Rica is a major attraction because in only 51,000 square kilometers you can meet the 5% of the world's animal species and the Costa Rica is the first Latin American country to have banned sport hunting for several years already.
